Getting ready for next month's Atlanta Show, I moved this figure to the front of my workbench. This is a conversion of an Andrea 54mm German Stormtrooper from the Great War. I replaced the kit supplied head and helmet with one from Scale Link. I had to carve away some straps from the front of the torso and do some putty work as the stock kit was designed to have the gasmask hanging on the front of the soldier and not wearing it. I also replaced the figure's right hand with a different one to which I added a grenade. He is currently primed and awaiting undercoating and then the final application of oils.

Next up on my workbench is this 120mm figure, sculpted by Maurice Corry.  The figure represents an officer of the Rifle Brigade during the Crimean War.  Uniform is green with black braiding.

This 120mm WWI US Marine, armed with a "trench broom", is from Nemrod.  I replaced the kit supplied helmet with one from the Michael Roberts line.  Painted in oils.

Remember this kit?  One of the great 120mm releases from S&T Miniatures.  This one and their D-Day paratrooper were quite popular around the time HBO ran their series "Band of Brothers".

Another one of my favorites.  Midway, 1942.  A 1/32nd scale pilot from UltraCast, sculpted by Mike Good.  Tail is from an old Revell kit.  Figure painted in oils and the plane airbrushed with acrylics.  Click on the picture for a larger image.

This is the flag of the 22nd Alabama Regiment.  As noted in the post below, this flag was captured at Chickamauga by the 121st Ohio.  Click on the picture to see the battle honors in the lower left quarter of the flag.

This is my Great Great Grandfather, Daniel Duvall.  He served with the 121st Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment from 1862-1865.  He attained the rank of sergeant and had the honor of being the regimental standard bearer.  He fought at Perryville, Chickamauga, Kennesaw Mountain, and Bentonville.  He also took part in the Grand Review in Washington DC.  Duvall settled in Michigan and is buried in a small cemetery in McBain.

This is the monument to the 121st Ohio at Chickamauga.  It is near this spot that the 121st captured the battleflag of the 22nd Alabama during hand to hand combat.
