Also on the bench is a 1/32 scale Fokker DVII from Wingnut Wings. I have long been a fan of WWI aircraft and these kits are state of the art. I have been working on applying the lozenge pattern decals to the upper and lower wing surfaces of both the upper and lower wings. Dark on the topside and lighter underneath. The decals are an aftermarket set from Aviattic and are a treat to work with.

  1. Kreston,
The wings are looking great. I would like to talk to you about the Aviattic decals some time. Is this going to be the Carl Degelow scheme? Hope to see you at the Chicago Show this year.

  2. Hi John. The Aviattic decals were great to work with. I will be at the Chicago Show and hope to have this with me. I am building the Fokker version of the DVII and am giving it Josef Jacobs' markings.

  3. Hello Kreston,
Another great black scheme. Where did you get the fire breathing devil emblem for the fuselage? I know it is the same as the Fokker Dr1 that he flew and Roden makes a kit with that emblem. Have you considered doing both the Fokker DR1 and DVII in his scheme? Jacobs was the highest scoring ace in the DR1 and ran up a nice tally of 13 to 15 victories in the DVII. I have seen your work in black and these aircraft would come out very nice in their all-black schemes.
If I can get your e-mail from timelines, I will send you an article I just did that has a nice section on Jacobs. See you in Chicago!
